What is HTML?

HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language, the authoring language used to create pages on the World Wide Web. HTML is a set of codes or tags that provide a web browser with directions on how to structure a web page’s information and features.

The web has gone through many changes over the past few decades, but HTML has always been the fundamental language used to develop web pages. Interestingly, while websites have become more advanced and interactive, HTML has actually gotten simpler.
